West Africa Open Education Platform is a free Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)platform for pupils and teachers in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Gambia, Ghana, and Nigeria. Students use the platform to prepare for national and regional exams such as West African Senior Secondary Certificate Examination (WASSCE), Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE), and National Primary School Examination (NPSE) in a collaborative way. West Africa Open Education Platform is owned and operated by TpISENT (SL) Limited. TpISENT is a leading professional services company providing ICT consultancy, management consultancy, technology platforms, software development, User Experience Design in Sierra Leone with over 50 years of combined experience.
TpISENT owns the copyright of the content. Where TpISENT does not own the content, full copyright details will be provided. The Platform also uses open educational resources (OER) like textbooks, videos, illustrations, simulations and etc that are freely available on the internet under open licensing
Digital course content is created by trained and qualified teachers mainly based in Sierra Leone. These teachers are hired and paid by TpISENT to create the content, validate past questions, provide solutions to the past questions, and more. TpISENT trains the teachers on how to create and publish the digital content on the platform.
The platform is primarily funded by TpISENT, individual and organizational donors. We will publish a list very soon.
Zero (0), it's free for anyone to use. The platform is available online for use by anyone without a fee. School administrators, teachers, and parents who are trained and qualified to teach can also use the platform to create, and publish their own digital course content without a fee
The platform's objective is to cover all senior secondary, junior secondary, and primary school subjects covered by WASSCE, BECE, and NPSE in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Gambia, Ghana, and Nigeria that are part of the West African Examination Council (WAEC). Due to COVID-19 and the time required to add all subjects, we are currently focussed on the following core subjects;

You can use this platform to prepare for your WASSCE/BECE/NPSE in Sierra Leone, Liberia, Gambia, Ghana, and Nigeria. Our practice exams cover past questions from 2000 to 2019. Your practice exam will be graded automatically and detailed feedback is provided. The feedback includes and explanation of the solutions to each question with links for further reading. The practice exams will force you to think because the choices are automatically shuffled every time you take the exam
